New Delhi: Five states - Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi and Mizoram - will go to polls between November 11 and December 4.
The counting of the votes in all the five states will take place on December 8. With the announcement of the election schedule, the model code of conduct has come into effect in these five states.
Chhattisgarh will be the first state to go to polls and will vote in two phases on November 11 and November 19. Rajasthan will go to polls on December 1 in a single phase while Madhya Pradesh will vote on November 25 in a single phase. The national capital of Delhi will go to polls on December 4 along with Mizoram.
Chief Election Commissioner VS Sampath said naxal-affected Chhattisgarh will vote first in two phases for its 90 Assembly seats on November 11 and 19.
Election to the 230-seat Madhya Pradesh Assembly will be held on November 25.
Rajasthan, with 200 Assembly seats, will vote on December 1.
Delhi and Mizoram will vote on December 4. The Delhi Assembly has 70 seats, the Mizoram Assembly has 40 seats.
